Great Lakes Floral Association
The Great Lakes Floral Association was founded in 1920. We are a multi-state, full service trade organization, representing more than 400 florists, growers, wholesalers, and 150 Certified Florist. Our offices are located in Haslett, Michigan.
The first weekend in March each year the GLFA creates and hosts the Great Lakes Floral & Event Expo. We offer group savings on insurance and credit card processing. GLFA administers the nationally recognized Certified Florist program. Our Educational Specialists conduct educational seminars throughout the year at the association headquarters and various other facilities. We publish The Professional Florist magazine every sixty days. The magazine is available in print as well as digital on our website. Our website is filled with information on all of the Associations functions and services. We have a staff of two and interact with state and federal government agencies on behalf of the floral industry.
The Great Lakes Floral Association Board of Directors also manages the Michigan Floral Foundation. The MFF was founded in 2007 to support & advance the floral industry, its members and the communities they serve. The Foundation meets this responsibility through educational opportunities and community enrichment activities.
Periodically the MFF will honor outstanding members of the floral industry who have mentored and inspired their fellow industry members. The MFF Hall of Fame has been established to record the contributions of those so honored.
The Foundation also provides scholarships annually for those seeking financial assistance for educational classes and or Certified Florist programs.
